I’m not the happiest camper right now. It’s okay, my ability to get happy resides in me. I live in the deep East Oakland. I’m on a paperchase. I am learning how to use my Pioneer CDJ 1000′s. I’m saving money. I’m working my ass off and when I’m not working, I’m working on my love of myself, my peoples and my music. I’m collecting beats again…..heattttt! I am me.

And here is where I’ll make a stab and making all the thoughts that ramble through my head make some sense to all ya’ll. That is assuming anything I say……is worth coming to check out regularly! Ha! We’ll just see.
I’m 46, from South Central Los Angeles born a born and bred West Coast kid. My parents were from the South; married 57 years and devout Jehovah’s Witnesses. I grew up with a love for educations in all forms and distaste for organized religion in all forms. I also grew up into somewhat of a rebel a habit I continue to have. I’ve been a practicing queer woman since I was 14; in the same vein I have six biological children including a set of twins.
I grew up with a classical background in music and played the piano for 10 years while still a child. My parents listened to everything from Duke Ellington to the Laurence Welk Show (which to me then and still now is one of the racist shows eva). As I got older my tastes ran to jazz and r& b and I still love me some gospel. My real love is underground hip-hop. I do not listen to the radio, I listen to the internet channels, Napster, and chase beats.
Although I traveled extensively throughout the United States I moved to the Bay about 20 years ago and it’s been home. I love the micro-climate; the people and the vibe. I started in the City and 15 years ago I came to Oakland and immediately felt at home. Mini LA!
